Network Camera Servers

Video Cameras with built in network support.

A PC is not needed to put an image on the web. These Camera Servers have their own camera or camera input and an ethernet interface. All that is required is an ethernet connection and an assigned IP address. To view the image just use a web browser and the IP address as the URL. Some even come with a built in web server.

All devices below are network ready. No PC's are required to interface them to an ethernet connection. They will respond to an IP address assigned to them. Those with web servers will give an HTML formated image.

Internet cameras or camera servers: are network cameras or network camera servers with a built in web server to give HTML formated images or video.

Axis Communication has been making web server cameras for some time with with stand alone devices. Each stand alone device is powered by a version of Linux providing the operating system and web server. Product comparison Uses Linux.

Darim Vision make the Netgator line of internet cameras and servers and more . Info on their internet cameras and servers is hard to find and not in one location/site. Their products seemed aimed at the OEM.

D-Link has a couple of internet/network camera servers. D-Link has been a maker of ethernet devices for sometime.

D & VP has a line of 30X network cameras for OEM. They can be fited with image intensifiers. As they are OEM, I have not inculded them in the below listing.

Flexwatch line is made by Seyeon of Korea and seems to be repackaged into the MiWebWatcher line. The Flexwatch line seems to be just as available in the US..

IQinvision has a line of network cameras and support devices.

JVC has a line of network cameras they call their V.Networks series. JVC has long been know for their electronic cameras and video equipment.

MiWatcher has a network camera and two network camera servers in their MiWebWatcher line. They have made similar device for phone and RS232 use and have just started making the network versions of their MiWatcher line. Seems to be the Korean made FlexWatch line.

Nucleus Electronics has a camera server that is relatively inexpensive.They do embedded PC based all in one modules.

Panasonic has a line of network cameras.

Pentax has a line of VersaCam Iinternet Cameras. Pentax has long been know for their lenses. Uses Embedded Linux on the IC-360.

Samsung has a line of Webthru web cameras using embeded Linux.

Sony has a new internet camera, the SNC-VL10P. It is new for the late spring of 2002. Uses Embedded Linux.

StarDot Technologies has an internet camera using Linux.

WebCamStore.com sells the Earthcam line of internet cameras. They may just be repackaging systems from above.
